There are people who waste the life God has given them on futile activities which only bring them toward pain and despair. This is a poem/prayer for these people.

Wayward Children

by Harry Kottler

Striking down on earth like lightning,

People waste their pranic fire.

It is really very frightening

How their destiny conspires

To deprive them of true sunshine,

To deprive them of true peace,

To supply them with a lifetime

Filled with every malady.

Some are gamblers, others drunkards,

Others fight and others steal,

Others act, oh, so politely

While inside their hatred squeals.

Can they reform? Can they wake up?

Can they really turn to God?

It's not easy. Things they break up

'Cause their very heart's been marred.

Still, I pray for those who've done wrong.

Still, I pray that they may heal.

Though I know the ego is strong,

God's the only thing that's real.

Lord, come strongly to the destructive.

Let them see the wrongs they've done.

They are still your dearest children.

Let them find truth one by one.

.......

With love and respect,

Harry and Helen
